At Jackalberry Daycare we offer you the choice of either accessing our nursery meals which are sourced by us from a 5* Specialist Catering Service or of providing your child with your own home prepared lunches or afternoon teas.
When your child starts at Jackalberry Daycare we think it is important that parents have the choice of either accessing our nursery food or of providing their own. If parents wish to provide their own meals, we do ask that these are healthy and nutritious. The food we provided at Jackalberry Daycare is sourced from a 5* catering company and is prepared on the day by professional chefs, it is freshly cooked and delivered to the nursery ready to serve. There is the option of having a hot two course nursery lunch, afternoon tea or for the babies there are specific baby weaning menus. The catering company have designed their menus based on experience from working with the Childcare Industry and Food Nutritionists. They also use locally sourced fresh produce, British Red Tractor meats and free-range eggs within their recipes.

We understand that food plays a key role in any child's development. We ensure the food we provide every day is packed full of the necessary variety of nutrients for development, whilst energising and supporting a busy Nursery day by working in close partnership with the catering company.
Special Dietary Needs
We work closely with both you and the catering company to ensure we meet your child’s dietary needs. We cater for all children and ensure we meet the needs of children with allergies, intolerances and those that follow a certain diet for example vegetarians, vegans and children with religious preferences/diets. The catering company supply full, completely transparent ingredients packs for every meal they serve so that we can pre order in advance knowing the ingredients and food allergens of each meal. For children with food allergens or specific dietary needs we ensure all allergens are checked daily, and alternative dishes are supplied; these are clearly and fully labelled therefore always ensuring food safety.

Charges

For children not in receipt of Nursery Education Funding the cost of the food is included within our hourly fees.

For children in receipt of 2, 3 and 4-year-old Nursery Education Funding who wish to access our nursery food provided by an external 5* caterer there is a daily charge for a two course lunch and also a daily charge for afternoon tea. Please ask the nursery manager for more information on our nursery prices.

Breakfast and snacks are provided free of charge to all families.

If you do not wish to access the nursery food, then you will be welcome to provide your child with a packed lunch/tea which can be stored daily at nursery.
Baby Puree Menu
4 - 9 months
For our youngest customers - We offer a fresh Puree of the Day made on the day from our seasonal range of vegetables.
Nursery Afternoon Tea Menu
1 year - 5 years
Roll's, Wraps, Soup's, Ploughman's . A varied high tea menu is designed for children attending a longer nursery day. Tea includes a piece of fruit, yoghurt or small cake.
Two Course Nursery Lunch Menu
9 months - 5years
​Hot Pot's, Pasta's, Roast's, Curry's, Cassoulet's . the list is endless. All dishes are served with traditional side dish of carbohydrate and/or vegetables followed by a dessert of the day.
